This garden already had some strong bones to work with like the big plum tree, rose shrub and lots of ‘borrowed green’ from the neighbours on both sides. But because of pruning works Deze tuin had al een aantal goede elementen om op verder te werken zoals de grote pruimenboom, rozenstruik en veel ‘geleend’ groen van de buren aan weerzijden.  However, due to pruning work by the neighbors behind the house, there was a lot of lack of privacy, winter and summer. This was a key element to address in the design.

Furthermore, the garden had to have a lot of wild plants, space for a large table and a water feature.

The owners already had a small terrace against the house in the same brick as the house. Stepping stones in the same material lead to a dolomite terrace beneath the plum tree. The raised water feature was also built using the same brick.

The evergreen Osmanthus heterophyllus screens the view into the house and creates a cozy seating area at the back.

A custom-made trellis of powder-coated steel serves as a climbing aid for a number of deciduous and evergreen climbers. It also serves as a support for the existing rose bush.

You can also access the garden through the garage. The concrete structure was already there. We added the plants.
